I am heading to my LHBS later today and I was gonna pickup some Root Beer extract. I was wondering if anyone had a good recipe for a Root Beer made with extract and baker's yeast?

Thanks!

Happy Brewing!

Dave

I used normal baker's yeast (Red Star). Bottled it on Saturday and sampled last night. I was pretty tasty! The recipe I followed said it is drinkable after 4 days and peaks about about 2 weeks.

Any reason for chosing to use baker's yeast? Just wondering.

spiderwrangler -

The only thing you get for the yeast in a batch of soda is CO2... right? What would I add to the soda to increase head retention?
