In my world's slowest brewery build:
I am tapping my well water before the water softener for all the obvious reasons. I need to run better than 60 feet of pipe I want 3/4" for the flow characteristics and the cost of CPVS is less than a third of copper PLUS my water is a acidic ( tastes great) and unless it's softened it pits copper pipes over time.
Any one experiences an off taste from CPVC? Everything I've read says I'll be golden.
This study says it's superior taste-wise to all other pipes
http://www.lubrizol.com/BuildingSolutio ... f-CPVC.pdf
It says that CPVC dumps the fewest organic compounds in the water and reacts less with the things in water like chlorine compounds etc.
I'm using well water so the chlorine reaction issue is irrelevant to me.
