GABF Road Trip - help me fill my ipod

Sat Sep 17, 2011 8:35 am

Hi all - new in the forums but not to the show. Been listening for about a year. I've recently started working my way through the archive from the start and love it.

We're roadtripping from CA to Denver for GABF, taking two weeks to play tourist and taste as much beer as possible. This is a lot of driving so I'm planning on filling the ipod with archived recordings of past Sunday sessions. Since there are so many to choose from here is the question I pose to you: what are your favorite episodes? If you had to pick, say, ten sessions that you would listen to while driving all over the southwest for two weeks what would they be?

Thanks!

Just keep working through in order. There are way too many inside jokes and stuff that you won't understand unless you listen to them all.

I'm for going through in order as my first vote, but I wanted to throw in the Russian River/Vinny show on 1-17-10. TONS of info in that show. Any episode with Vinny or Nate Smith packs tons of information. I would think the Homer Smith shows would be good to drive to too. If you're looking for more humor pick some of the meltdown or live location shows. That other show is always lurking in the shadows...

Thanks guys, I'll just keep doing what I've been doing then, working my way through the archives. I'll probably add some of the GABF shows too, since that's where we're going and all...

The Anchor brewing show really stuck out in my mind ....mostly because of the cool stories about how they got started and the unique way Fritz ran the business. I'd definately get that show in there.

Second the Anchor show.

I would say all of the Dan Gordon shows, all of the Vinnie shows, the Destruise show, the Will Meyers - Cambridge Brewing show.

If you need some to play for nap time, you might try the first Jamil show, American stout. :asshat:

Thanks guys. Caught up on some recent ones, listened to some archive ones you suggested. Definitely made the time fly by.

Just got back home after the 17 day road trip. MrHopsHopsHops is currently unloading cases of beer from the back of the truck that we hauled back to CA from CO. Great trip.
