Brewing Injuries

i love brewing, but carboys suck. i use 6.5 galon. very smooth, very heavy, very wet..............very injured. while trying to invert a carboy on to a stand to drain i felt it pulling me over so i decided i better set it down. i eased it down as gentle as i could but as soon as it touched it exploded.
it cut my hand up pretty good. anyone else get hurt with these dam things??????

Those hangle thingies you put around the neck are worth their weight in gold. Definitely gives you something less slippery to hold onto.

Yeah, wet carboys are slick. Rubber gloves really help. Cheers....

I make these for every carboy I have. They cost me about $3.
Also you can't post pics from your desktop. You have to load them to a web server and then link to them.

I wash and rinse my carboys on the floor and on a towel, when I drain them I lay it on it's side first to drain out about half then tip it up a bit to drain more. Take my handle off then put it in the stand. No back injuries no explosions. Hope you healed up ok, that had to be a bit freaky.

Met a guy who had dropped a carboy and sliced the heck out of his legs. His wife ordered him to buy a conical. Im thinking of dropping a carboy myself if it will make my wife force me to buy one!

Like that strap setup that was posted. Might have to make some of them.
