I use a big fishing tackle box to keep all the smalls in one place. Holds my bottle caps, thermometers, hydrometers, airlocks, hop bags, spigots, bottle washer and etcetera. Keep canes and siphons in a wallpapering water tub which I also use to do my star san soaks. Hang everything else from rafter hooks.

+1. I forgot. I have a cheap toolbox I got for $8 at home depot. It holds all my fittings, clamps, barbs, etc, as well as spare quick disconnects, any tools for kegging (wrenches, etc.,), airlocks, hop bags, marbles to weigh down hop bags in dry-hopping, keg lube, spray bottle with starsan, etc., a couple of screwdrivers for adjusting kegerator pressure, etc.,

I know it sounds random, but 90% of my day-to-day incidentals are kept in this toolbox, and a fair number of smaller fragile things I use on brew day.

Storage rack from Home Depot. Also re-purposed small drawers from refrigerator for small parts storage.

I bought an armoire from Canadian Tire onsale, and for some reason had an extra medicine type cabinet kicking around. Mounted that. Pretty standard setup for a brew closet.

What keeps it organized is that I section off everything according to part of process. Grains, mash tun, piping, paddle etc...all together. Same with stuff for the boil and cooling, then same with stuff for packaging, even a separate shelf for cleaning supplies and one for equipment to make starters. That way I just grab everything from one section as I need it. Also keeps me from grabbing the bag of Sugar I need for priming instead of the one I planned for fermenting. Along with that a small white board keeps quantities up to date. Tho I don't brew enough that I keep bulk grains around.

All that, along with cleaning as I go keeps a brew day running smoothly.

Anyone got grand "Martha Stewart" type layouts for their brewery?

I appreciate the feedback guys, it's good to have these articles filled with lots of ideas (plus it'll help make my brewery awesome, and really, its all about me having awesome things!)

Drew -I may have some before photos or can get some I think. Here is my recent attack of OCD in my brew room. Shelving and air-tight containers for grain. My hops are all in my freezer above my kegerator. My chest freezer is for fermenting. I currently brew in y garage and just drag up what I need. I have one tool box dedicated to all my small brew-day items.

I will look for the before photos...some were in John's presentation at NHC. I'd be happy to e-mail you any of the pix if needed.

I wish I had a separate room for my brew gear. Currently I have my stuff separated between two of the smaller versions of those wire shelves. One's in my (home) office and the other is in the downstairs shower stall. I also have my grains in airtight containers in a storage shed outside, and my brew rig on the patio. I need a bigger house.
