FACT #2: Goose Island makes some fantastic fuckin' beers. I've not had anything by Half Acre so I can't speak on them, but the GI stuff is really great.
Bottle: Lonely Beer Party Bitter, Mildly Amused, Saison Du Biz (two fermentors with slightly different ferm. temps), Noah's Parti Bitter

I agree 100%...especially Sophie and BCS. Half Acre makes excellent beers too....I'm not saying their beers are shit because they use AB as a distributor.

I forget but a few years back Widmer bought a minority share of Goose. That is what got Goose in with the AB distributors. I think the chain goes something like AB owns a bit of Redhook who owns a bit of Widmer who owns a bit of Goose (not sure where Kona fits in). I think when the deal went down I figured AB's share in Goose was around 15%. Some things have changed at the brewery because of this but Goose still makes all decisions on what beers they produce which is why they are still coming out with interesting beers. I might have messed up some of the facts (it happened several years back) but my basic premise is correct.
