Possible sculpture cart?

40gal steam jacketed kettle. I have no idea what the original use was. Here are a few other pics of it. I like the damn thing. I just am never going to have the time to do anything with it.

That thing looks like what they were looking for the U.S.S. Slater. They say they found one, though.

This is behind the building where I work. It belongs to a printing company, but they've had it out there since spring. I'm thinking about talking to the owner about it to see if he's just going to throw it away.

It is 83" x 33" x 27". A bit wide and a bit long, but is anyone else thinking sculpture cart when they see this?

Hey ,you bet! That the way I do it! Someone elses trash is anothers treasure. That looks like an excelent stand. It appears to have once upon a time been used for a heavy piece of power equipment. I think it would be perfect for building a sculpture.

I found out it was originally a shrink wrap machine and was nearly $50K in 1990 dollars. I still don't have it home yet, been working too much.

I got it home! I'm now in the process of stripping all of the mechanical stuff off of it prior to chopping it a bit.

I saw there was a rotary handle on there, does it move any of the parts on the surface of the cart left and right (or up and down)? If so, you could maybe somehow keep that functionality (to what avail, I don't know).

But nice cart, that'll be sweet in the end!

The rotary thing is just hanging there. Looks like it was a ball-screw mechanism (you know, rotary to linear motion) for something.

I said ball-screw.
