OK, I'm sure someone has already suggested this, so I'm going to be 'that guy' really quick and do it again...

Why don't you guys publish a recipe book with all the recipes you get from brewmasters????

You could just call them clone recipes so that you wouldn't have to give any royalties. You guys get recipes sometimes that I've not seen anywhere. I don't mind listening and writing them down myself, but Justin, one of these days you are going to have to bite the bullet and become an author like everyone else in your studio!

I think a lot of people would buy it, AND you could probably get even more listeners if the book explains how you got the recipes.

alright, just throwing it out there because I think of it every time I hear a recipe on your show.

Keep up the good work.

Making money off of the generosity of pro brewers sounds like violation of rule #1 of the Brewer's Code. Just sayin'.

I think the probrewers give out recipes when they can because a lot of them are former and current homebrewers. If someone was going to start making money off these recipes, i think you'd find them less likely to do so.

And somehow just saying they are clone recipes, I'm not sure that would pass a legal challenge.

Haha, ok. First of all where are the Brewer's Codes listed? I have heard much about them but never read them.

Second, obviously the brewers are giving out a recipe, so they don't care if we know it.
Thirdly, The money could go for a good cause, could support the AHA, changing some of the shitty laws that hold brewers back, Testicular Cancer, etc. Or what I consider a good cause: keeping Justin alive so he can continue the show.
I was partly joking about the clone thing. I'm sure that wouldn't work in court.

I mainly think the recipe book would be cool because I am a new user (and yes I am lazy). I have probably listened to 25 Sunday Sessions since I started listening. I don't have the ability to listen live very often. And I listen while I'm driving so I can't really write them down. So it would make the recipes more readily available for listeners.

I see what you mean though. My apologies for breaking the code, I repent of my lazy, outlandish idea and humbly beg for forgiveness.

You didn't break the code. All I was saying was that if Justin (or any of us, for that matter), decided to turn around and publish the recipes given to him (us) by pro brewers and charge money for them, then said person would be the proverbial d-bag, and would be in violation of the #1 rule of the Brewer's Code.... dont' be a douche.

TheDarkSide brings up a good point, too. That would really quell the willingness of pro brewers in the future to be so kind.

Enjoy reading...and agreed that you didn't violate brewers code.

There are not as many pro brewer recipes as you would think. A lot of guys didn't give recipes, because they weren't allowed, or like Sully, wanted to keep his recipes private. No harm there. Then there are the brewers, like the guy at Sly Fox who gave two recipes grain bills, but no hop details. Then there are the times Justin forgot to ask for a recipe. I don't think it would make a book. Maybe a pamphlet. . .
