I think it's pretty F-ing dumb. the highest A/C beer war died the first time someone freeze distilled past 20%. any brewery can pull dumb shit like this, but only a great brewery can market great beer.

I agree that they are doing some questionable things to "Beer", but I have had some of their normal beers and they are quite good. They are not bad brewers, they are just trying to have some fun and piss some people off...If I thought somebody would pay me 765 for a dead squirlle I would make a career change tomorrow.

Do I think that bad pubilicity may turn people off of their mainstream stuff...maybe...but if the regular beer is good all the stupid shit will soon be forgotten.

Sam should get Beevo a bottle of this as an anniversary gift. At least this one isn't fresh...

Their regular beer can be very good, at least the 3 I tried were. It isn't bad publicity. The CAMRA knobs and their ilk need a good kick in the arse. This is it.

It's beer...it's fun. Funny how everyone thought they were great when they were on the session and now they are saying the dumb. JP said on the Session last Sunday he didn't care much for their beer. I've gotta go back and relisten to that show and see what his opinion was then.

And if someone wants to give me a free taste of this or Utopias, freeze distlled or not...I'm taking it!

I definitely agree that the high abv stuff is dumb. More so because they only made 12, and less about what it was packaged in. They just wanted press, which they got. More so than any other beer release that I've ever heard of. If they wanted to slap CAMRA in the face they should have come out with a 15% beer that actually tastes good, then offer it year round. That would actually have an impact on the community. For these reasons I think it is truly a dumb stunt, that is completely void of any genuine worth.

What I don't understand is when some people bash their regular offerings. They make some really good ones. The 5AM Amber is awesome.
