Thanks for the invite man. I'm in San Francisco, up in the Presidio. Where exactly are you guys at in So Cal? Probably a bit of a drive for me to get out, but that's a nice invitation. I really appreciate that.

Edit: Good resource at Krotchrott.com, awesome!

The More beer store in Concord isnt to far from you. I would suggesst dropping by, its impressive.

I know the more beer shop in riverside has a brew day about once a month where they go through the process, unsure if N cal club does the same thing. Im sure there are plenty of people up there who will show you the process though.

I didn't see any mention of bottles or a pot in there, so I'd imagine I'd have get those seperately.

That's not exactly a starter kit. Are you needing everything, like fermenter, air lock, etc? or do you already have that stuff and you just need an ingredients kit?

Check out a local brew club and hook up with a buddy, you could watch one of those dopes brew up a batch and maybe you could get all dressed up in that cute little sun dress of yours and go on a little shopping spree with your new pal.

Note above sarcasm (the dress part) officially makes you a member of the club... now go out there find some buddies and rack up that credit card.

I am starting from nothing on brewing. So I suppose I'm looking at the wrong thing. I guess I'll be better off just stopping by Beer, Beer and More Beer one of these weekends and talking someone's ear off ;)

Justin wasn't kidding when he said that the community here is awesome. Thanks so much for everyone's response, you've been really helpful to this poor noob ;(

Tsrah, this appears more appropriate:
http://morebeer.com/product.html?product_id=15910
and here is another option:
http://www.homebeerwinecheese.com/bstart.htm
and also:
http://northernbrewer.com/starterkits.html

I think attending a brew day at More Beer is a great idea although there is NO reason why you cannot just wing it by yourself too if you're adventurous.

If money is an issue go back and listen to the 7-16-06 archive (The Frugal Brewer) about buying only what you need to start with. If it is not an issue drive down to Lancaster (it's only about 5 hours from SF, ask me how I know) and we'll do an extract batch.

Good luck.

A bit closer to home might be San Francisco Brewcraft. The guys at B3 are top-notch I'm sure, but nothing beats having a shop around the corner. My cup overfloweth here in Fremont, with 4 homebrew shops within a 15 minute drive.
