Built a platform yesterday and am putting the final tweaks on my first gravity system. This platform also created a shelf to store the propane off the ground so I can hose off the brew area - and maybe create some tool / parts storage on the back side of the propane partition.
Still need to run electric and a switch to the March pump that just mounted on the platform today, and will tee off on the hose bibb next to the kettle for the cooling water so I can add an ice bath pre-chiller using the large kettle on the ground at the end of cool down. Would like to capture the first heated portion of the cooling water for carboy / keg cleaning and will dump the rest into the yard to irrigate plants with the waste cooling water.
Also need to relocate the overhead supply of filtered water into the HLT - moved the platform slightly over from where I originally thought I would locate it, so need to resolder the end pieces - but this is an easy change as I mounted a threaded connection to the wall as you would with a shower head so this could be changed in the future. The ball valve on the wall before the carbon filters is what you use to fill the HLT, so as long as the lid is off, you can add water from the ground.
Sink has been roughed in (just need to finish the drain and a drywell outside) and made a spot for the grain mill, but may move that away from the wet area as more space is organized.
Put the carboy ferment chamber (i.e. an old refrigerator) up on a platform so I can transfer to a keg without having to move it around (before I lifted carboy's up to a counter and then waited a few hours for all to settle again).
I have a high wall next to the sink - will be handy to hang hoses from as they drip dry - will also probably build some storage shelving in above the sink next to the window.
Any suggestions will be welcome.
Will be using Blichman's new autosparge arm in the mash tun.
