It's not beer....It's Elderberry Melomel (get over it)

So far my little 1gal test batch of this is great. I'll probably do 5gal next year if I can harvest that many berrys. This is done fermenting and 18% ABV  I'll have to age it for a while, but it tasted pretty good when I racked it yesterday. A pretty good alcohol burn to it, but that was about it. Anyway on to the pictures....

Without question, the greatest invention in the history of mankind is beer. Oh, I grant you that the wheel was also a fine invention, but the wheel does not go nearly as well with pizza.

That looks awsome, when it is done ageing you should send it in for critique. I wouldnt know a melomel if it bit me in the arse. One of these days i will have the juevos to send in my brew. Every time i hear Elderberrys I think of MP & The Holy Grail.

What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?

I don't think I'm coming off of a bottle of this. I'll only get about 10 12oz bottles out of it. I can't make more till next year when I can pick more berrys. And a word of advice for anyone picking elderberrys they are a PITA. Very small and will stain everything you wear.

If anyone quotes Monty Python to your kids (should you have any), they'll be able to say with pride that their father does indeed smell of elderberries.

Hey Lufah I have a solution to your berry problem There is this winery here in kansas that produces a concentrate for health reasons. I keep a bottle of it around for the kids and me to keep us well and fight sickness faster. Well this stuff is a good concentrate the ingredients list is elderberry juice filtered water and potasium sorbate. So check this site out buddy. http://www.elderberry.net/index.htm
