I have beet tools as well, but don't much care for the interface.
It can however do a few things beer alchemy doesn't.

I know soem pro's use Promash, wonder if any have switched to any of the others?

There's a malt missing from BeerSmith that I came across this weekend. CaraHell maybe?

Other than that, it's what I like as well. Pro mash was clunky for me.

You can add new malts, yeasts, misc, etc..

I looked at Promash and Beersmith and I picked beersmith. I like it , it's worth $20.

+1 for BeerSmith. I use a mac and it works perfectly as far as I can tell using Crossover. Mac version is supposedly in the works for this fall.

I grabbed trial versions of Crossover for Mac and Beersmith and got it to work with relative ease.
It seems they all have essentially the same functionality across the board; it's in the interface that they differ.
I have Beertools for Mac and it's a nice tool, but I much prefer the interface of BeerAlchemy. BeerSmith would be my #2 choice.
As for ProMash, that thing looks like some kind of dungeons & dragons game from the late 80's.

Is there really anything that any of these do that the other can't?

I recently ditched ProMash in favor of Beersmith. Certainly easier to navigate around and the fact that there's support and development on the horizon is a bonus.

I am a long time user of ProMash and have tried both BeerSmith and BeerTools. Even though both of these programs have nice features, I still find ProMash the better and easier tool for me to use. It maybe just that I have used it for so long, it would be difficult to like anything else.

The downside is that there is little to no developmenet being done on ProMash from what I can see which is really too bad as I think a few tweaks and along with a few new feature additions would be all it would take to make ProMash the best tool on the market for homebrewers and maybe pro brewers as well.

I will just have to wait and hope ProMash continues to work on future MS OS releases.
