Gettin My Jamil on!

Thu Aug 31, 2006 5:30 pm

So I sold my beloved Therminator because all this hub-bub Jamil was stating. It just so happened the guy I sold my therminator to, gave me his 10g immersion chiller along with the sale (double score for me).

I wondering if anyone has anymore tips to get me started, I have all my ducks in a row (extra pump, copper T on chiller, side pick up tube on the keggle, assorted fittings, etc)?
For instance, after the chill is complete (43F) do you shut off the pump and let things (trub cone) settle out for awhile, or just pump it right out?

Little tips like that would help tons!

Thanks
Bryan

If I understand your question right, you do let the wort just settle out after your whirlpool. Then rack or pump.

Let your whirlpool settle for about 20 minutes or so with a closed lid. As for the 43F... that's lagers only, eh? Pitching ale yeast at that temperature = hibernating yeasties.
