The Drunken Sahler has set a new course.

Hey everyone,

So I stumbled onto TBN a couple of weeks ago and I got the bug again. a couple of years agao I had brewed about 4 or 5 of those allinone 5 gallon brewkits and fell in love with it, but when I moved i no longer had the basement with the constant temperature so i fell away from it...That is until I heard TBN, now I want, nay I must start brewing again.. I am living in Brooklyn and don't think my 3 other roommates would appreciate me controlling the temp the way it needs to be controlled. plus that would weigh heavy on our pocketbooks. Can i get some advice for brewing in an apartment with no temperature control. Do I need to get an extra fridge to ferment in? And should I stay with extract with my limited space? Any and all advice would be great.
Thanks alot,
THe Drunken Sahler

P.S. Does TBN have any plans on coming to east coast for any festivals? New York has two in OCtober, "Beer on the Pier" and "Worldbeerfest".

Welcome, sailor!

A trash can with water and frozen water bottles. How's that for cheap and easy temp control?!

This guy I really respect does that with all of his beers and one of his girlfriend's beers fermented the same way took second place in a huge regional competition!

Alright, another Brooklyn Brewer.
Do you ever go to the Malted Barley Appreciation Society at Mugs?

I have not been to one of the Malted Barley events yet. I have seen their events but this summer's been crazy so I haven't made it to one, yet.

Thanks for the tip Push.

Fritz, where is the best place to get supplies in the city?
