If anyone would like the drawing for the base, let me know.

Actually, I'm more interested in that motor setup. What are the specs/sources on those components, and how well is that setup working out for you?

You might also want to consider a direct drive option, which has been extensively discussed here:<br>

Here's some relatively unenlightening video of mine in action:

I've used mine for 4 batches now with full satsifaction. Not the same as a happy ending.

Wish I had the patience to build a hopper as sweet as Otterbrew's, though. I just cut off the bottom of a plastic carboy.

The items I used to power my mill are the following:
Mill Sheave - 10" diam from Grainger
(I did increase the flats on the output shaft to get a better bite for the sheave set screw)
Motor Sheave - 1.5" Diam (came with my motor)
Motor is 1/3 hp, but not capacitor start, which is a feature I wish I had. I need to start the mill before adding the grain to the hopper, since it won't turn when started with a full hopper.
Other lessons learned - wheat bounces in the mill, so mix the wheat with the other grains as best you can. I think this issue would go away if a capacitor start motor is used, but I can't verify with my current set-up.
Enjoy,

What's the cost of the hopper from Fred?
Do you have the hopper top measurements as
well as how tall it is?
Reason asking I have a MM2-3 mill needing a hopper.
Thanks. BH.

The hopper was designed for all of the mills in Fred's line, so you will just need to order the right one (the interface plate is unique for each size of the mills, and the hopper is the same). I am not sure of the price, but they are on the website now.

I don't get it? Why, what's wrong with mentioning a manufactured product we use that's available to the public? This isn't a Red Country the U.S.A. last time I looked and it's nothing like Red China after being there years ago either. What's up with your reply?
