Yeah, I have purchased it from depot before, ace and lowes should carry it as well.

...and what kind of plumbing are you doing that would require pipe dope?
As a chef, I wouldn't use any pipe that wasn't food grade for liquid lines. If you are using threaded PVC (why you would is beyond me) I'd use Teflon tape. If you're using black iron pipe for gas lines I would STRONGLY urge you to have someone check your conections with a gas sniffer for leaks.

No need to fall down and go BOOM...

For gas. Some bubbles appeared after spraying my sculpture.

I just moved my water heater which involved extending my gas line. I used the yellow Teflon tape that is specifically for gas lines. It worked great and is not as messy.
