Good thinking on everyone's parts... stick to homebrew as the initial gift. If you stuff isn't ready (or you think it tastes like shit), then maybe do something local just so you can stay in the swap. I
LOVE the idea of keeping the commercial stuff as an added bonus, if you feel like doing it.
Good stuff... I've got a couple things lined up that I should be able to send, but I think a good malty, high-abv bottle of super-goodness is going to need to be brewed for this. This is yet another reason that I love the holidays.
