"Stock" Structure for Sculpture/Brewing Cart

Anyone know of existing or "Stock" structures one could purchase that would make good brewing sculputure stands? What about the wire shelving you can pickup at like Home Depot or Lowes that basically have four poles and you can move the shelves up and down in 1in increments (See pic below)? Some of those have 350lbs per shelf limits. Or, since I usually just do small batches like 2-2.5 gallons I was looking at using a 10gallon fish tank stand from Wally-World. They look like powder coated metal and seem pretty sturdy (after all they are built to hold 80lbs of water plus all the rocks on the bottom). My only concern is attaching a burner to either of these... not sure how to do that or if it would cause stability issues.

Anyone used any of these items?

I suggest Unistrut. Home Depot carries it or a similar version. Check out the original:

I just realized that it's made by a different division of my employer. I'll have to see if I can get a discount somehow.

The options are endless with this stuff and it can be changed down the line when you want to upgrade portions of it.

danno, killer idea!! I've had a lot of expoerience with strut at my old job and totally didn't think to build a rig with that shizzz. Time to start pricing it out!

Techie, I wouldn't suggest the rack you have pictured. The shelves are held in position by these little plastic thingies (I know real technical here) Add heat to plastic what do you get? A bunch of shelves on the floor and hot wort/water all over too!

Exactly! I was going to mention that but then I read your post. The unistrut is a great idea as well as the perferated angle iron found over in the hardware dept. Personaly I was going to use that stuff too but my welder buddy convinced me otherwise. I used old bedframes! I had several hanging around as did a few friends. You'd be suprized at how resoucefull you can be when put your mind to it. I built a mack daddy three tier that includes a sink and 3" casters. All on a shoestring!

Nice lookin system there brewbuddy! It almost looks as if your stand has some type of bolts to support the brewing shelves yet the others have the little plastic supports we mentioned earlier. Am I wrong? I was under the impression that those things would melt out during the long boil period. Apparently thats not the case.
