Which BJCP category for Biere de Mars?

Mon Aug 03, 2009 6:27 am

If I brewed a Biere de Mars, which BJCP category would that go in? The style description for Biere de Garde mentions it, but doesn't exactly say it belongs in that category and it doesn't seem like they're all that close anyway. Biere de Garde is stored for a long time and therefore malt-focused, which Biere de Mars is meant for quick consumption and is hoppier.

16E would be my guess. The description for Biere de Garde calls it a related style, which I would read as a separate style.
