Show off your mini fridge kegerator

Sun May 31, 2009 3:46 am

I'm going to be assembling a mini fridge kegerator here before too long. I figured before I start drilling holes and putting together a piece of shit, I should see what the more crafty and creative folks on the interwebs have come up with. I really want to have mine with a tower dispenser on top, but the prices on those are enough to make me want to be tacky and run it out the front or side. if anyone has pulled off building their own tower, any advice would be appreciated.

Not sure if you can view these. If not, let me know and I can try again.

What I did with my 30 buck Craig's list mini fridge was completely remove the compressor and cooling unit as 1 piece. This involved a lot of cutting and destroying. Then I built a box out of oak veneered plywood, insulated it with 2" foil faced foam, then trimmed it out with oak to make it look nice.

There are 2 chambers - 1 fits 3 kegs and the other is a lagering chamber. There is a fan on a A419 control that kicks on and pushes cold air into the lagering side when the temps get too high.

Seems to work well so far. It now has three taps on it.

My bud and fellow DOZE member Erik Beer has built many kegorators. Check out his web site for instructions and pix:
