I just moved into an apartment about a month ago. My kitchen is way too cramped to brew in. But I'm going to try to make it work sometime. I'm just afraid that the vent over the stove is too low. So it'd be hard to work with my kettle.

But in other news, Tavish said its cool for me to come over to his place and brew together since he's always brewing. So I'm pretty stoked to do that. So now I'll be able to brew this weekend. I need to see if I can get my kitchen to work out so I'm not always going somewhere else to brew, but that might be what I gotta do for now. I'd go to my parents house cuz they have a lot of room, but they're remodeling the house and kitchen right now, so thats out of the question.

now all i really need to figure out is a wort chiller. my sink isn't big enough to do an ice bath for 3gal of beer. i'm just really skeptical about the kitchen faucet hookups for the immersion chillers. my experiences with those kinds of adapters haven't been exactly awesome

As long as your kitchen faucet is a decent metal one and not a cheapo plastic one it should work fine. I'm somewhere on batch number 60 in the last 1.5 years.

i might try to run to the hardware store in the next day or so to see if i can whip something up. once i get that made up, i'll be a fully functioning home brewery. man i miss my converted keg system

3 gallons is a small batch. You should be able to chill it in an ice batch quickly enough, so I wouldn't go immersion chiller until you're doing full volume boil of 5 gallon batches or more.

Since your sink is too small, go to walmart or whatever and find a rubbermaid tub that fits your kettle with room for ice and chill in that.

As for the faucet adapters, I use the bathroom sink with a hose adapter and a 50 foot hose and it works great, surprisingly awesome pressure.

Ah yes... my downstairs neighbor. The guy with glasses and long curly hair whom we call Weird Al. The guy who sunbathes in the front walkway wearing a full, long sleeve, long pant, pleather suit. An interesting cat that one

I did find out this week that it is forbidden for me to have a propane tank larger than the small disposable ones in my apt. Here's to hoping they don't find out
