Howdy all. I'm slowly piecing together a Brutus.
I fired up the boil kettle burner this weekend, and while amazed that I'm finally close to having 'er done, was dismayed at the massive amount of soot produced. The bottom of my kettle and stand were covered in black. I rigged together some fittings in order to use the hose from a high pressure regulator. (From my old Banjo Cooker). Could that be the problem? My burners are about 3.5-4 inches from the bottom of the kettle, not sure if that's a factor. With the gas valve fully open orange flames crept up the sides of my kettle, seems like way to much orange not enough blue.
Those burners a re low pressure are you using a low pressure regulator
