Laughing Buddha

Sat Nov 15, 2008 9:58 am

So last night I was cruising the beer aisle at Central Market in Mill Creek, WA. and they were unpacking a local craft brewery's product. Laughing Buddha has 4 styles right now according to their website of which I tried the ginger pale ale. To be honest I expected a lot more ginger flavor. For some perspective I had just finished a 22 of Bear Republic Racer 5 about 15 minutes before but I took care to cleanse my pallet but it's hard to clear all that hoppy goodness. I think the orange peel takes more of a center stage in the beer and plays off the Munich malt. It most resembled New Belgian's mothership wit with the flavor profile. Overall I wasn't impressed with it but I'll try their other beers before making a final decision.

If you ever come across their Purple Yam Porter, avoid it. Bdawg will back me up on that one.
