Any advice on acquiring a keg to convert?

Am I missing something obvious? I want to convert a keg to a boil kettle, but I don't know where to find one. I'd rather not "steal" one, so I've checked craigslist and eBay and yielded nothing. Every restaurant supply place in the area seems to think I'm asking for something crazy.

Any suggestions?

I've spoken with two of my local craft breweries. Both would sell me kegs at scrap cost. Most of their bad kegs are bad because they get dinged up on the filling machine, meaning that once you cut off the top, all the rest is fine.

I got mine for free from a local microbrewery. I asked the brewer if he had any kegs that no longer held pressure, explained why I wanted it and he went into the back and pulled one out and gave it to me

Any keg you buy from a private party (ie: craigslist) can essentially be considered stolen. Not that I've ever lost any sleep over how I "acquired" my kegs (I actually did steal them ), but some people feel that theft is something you should try to avoid doing. Go figure.
