Fast forward to about two months ago. I look on craigslist and see a 3" tower extension to take my kegerator from 2 to 3 taps. Best of all, $25. SCORE!
About a month ago my mom was getting rid of some stuff, including two chest freezers, free. SCORE! Fits six cornies off the hump, but with some modification to the lid now fits 8 cornies in one. The other freezer is hop storage and where I freeze ice for my fermentation chambers.
Today I ask my girlfriend to stop and get an exchange on the 10# co2 tank. They are out of 10# tanks. Crap that sucks, I have 6 beers in my new keezer needing to be carbed. Then the good news. The guy swapped the tank for a 15#... FREE upgrade! I got a 15# tank for less than I swap out my 10# for at the brew shop.
Man, It's a good season for scores in brewing.
I've been brewing my butt off for two months, the tally is at 15 gallons in my kegerator, thirty gallons in the keezer, another twenty gallons fermenting and ten more on the way tomorrow.
WHEW!!!
Also, about two weeks ago, a brewery went out of business locally. I got to check out the stuff the were liquidating... I got a 33" stainless steel driptray like they sell at micromatic for $15 and a spare propane tank (full) for $20.
