The best I have had in the East Bay is Everett & Jones. Very tasty! There are several locations including one in Jack London Square.

I have also been to the one on Fruitvale which was very good as well, but you pay and get served through 2 inch thick bullet proof glass. *(read: don't go there after dark pale face.)* The spicy option is real hot, so put your TP in the fridge before you head out.

Peace

Way back when there use to be a BBQ place on San Pablo Ave at about 20th in Oakland. Use to be pretty damn good. Don't remember the name these days, but it was good.

Motor says the best BBQ is right across the street from the Toronado.

Maybe I'll find out soon

+1 on Motor's suggestion. The place is called Memphis Minnies. Its really good BBQ but also helps that you can get it to go and take it over to Toronado.
