Made a few changes to the fast dog brewery

Wed Oct 22, 2008 7:21 am

I built a sparge manifold and started redoing my gas plumbing. Next up new mounting for the pumps.

I still haven't decided if I am going to go with the monster immersion chiller and HERMS heat exchanger or the giant counter flow chiller. I still like the idea of the giant counter flow chiller and use it for mash temp control and wort chilling. Its not the best, but its simple and easy. If I go the monster counter flow route I want to mount it in the middle under the MT. This will give me a nice tight layout.

I put together a set of process diagrams detailing where I am going. Should be done soon. Only big items I need are the temp switch and Chillus Convolutus, then some small parts.

Got a voicemail yesterday during my layover at LAX that my new pump head( ) and Chillus Convolutus is in.

I am going to try and brew a big extract batch this weekend. I have a department party coming up in Dec and I want to have some beer to bring. Plus I have no beer, so just having beer would be an improvement.

Will be able to see if my chilling part of the process will work well. Gotta order a Love controller.

Got most everything together and plumbed. All I need now is the Love controller and a couple fittings. Planning on doing a dry run tomorrow while I am doing an extract batch.
