I'm really itching to use these in a lager, and like the idea of doing the strong lager Bigbrews described. My next lager will be a light german pils (1.047), so maybe after this beer, I'll have enough yeast to make something in the 1.070 range. :jnj

One of my favorite seasonals, Cold Hophttp://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/130/36468, is made with a blend of hops that include nelson sauvin. It has the most unique and awesome taste. Supposedly the grain bill is from the complete joy of homebrewing and the hop bill is
quite complex. Galena, Willamette, Czech Saaz, Hallertau,
and Nelson Sauvin.

I've actually been looking for a clone recipe for this...and nelson sauvins for that matter... for a year or so now...
believe me: the secret for harvesting from existence the greatest fruitfulness and greatest enjoyment is — to live dangerously.

I was fortunate enough to run into Bigbrews at the NCHF and he directed me to his Strong Lager. Very good beer with a really interesting hop flavor. Gotta get some of those hops. I have a beer they would be perfect for.

Tasty
yep, yep, yep, yep

This is a peculiar hop that imparts a unique grape like aroma. I've used this in an west coast IPA style as an aroma hop and had great success. I dry hopped 3 gallon with 2 oz of fresh NS hops and the results were wonderful. It was gone in 1 night! This is a great Aroma hop! Dry Hop it in your IPA and you will be Happy!

We got our Nelson Sauvins in St. Louis (see BN Blog). The brewmaster was showing us around their hop room, and I think his comment was something like, "these will blow your mind". Maybe a bit overstated maybe not, but I am excited to get something going with these. You think I should just use these in flavor/aroma additions? I'm torn, since they have such a high AA% (11.4) I don't want to waste all those IBUs!
