Doubling up Jamil's recipes?

Just bought Jamil's Brewing Classic Styles, great book. Simple question, but one worth asking all the same. Give you guys something to read anyway...

I take possession of my new 22 gallon brew pot next weekend. No more 7 gal turkey fryer for me - to hell with boilovers!!

If JZ's extract based recipes are all based on a 7 gallon pre-boil volume, I should be able to accommodate a 14 gallon boil easily. For almost the same effort, I can be making 2 kegs worth at at time if I double the recipes. I have the fermenters, kegs, etc to do so - is it as simple as just doing 2x the ingredients and pitching the appropriate sized starter?

Yep, the math is so simple even Justin could do it. Doubling everything is all you need to do.

The only thing that will be different of any consequence is that your boil off rate will be different. My old 7.5 gallon turkey fryer pot had a boil off rate of 1 gallon per hour. When I switched to a 10 gallon kettle with larger surface area, my boil off rate jumped to 1.5 gallons per hour. You may want to go stick 5 gallons of water in that new pot and boil for an hour and see what the final volume is. Without making that correction, you may end up with a higher OG than what you had planned.
