I am one of those unfortunate fuckers who has a birthday every four years(aka feb 29) so i bought myself something nice and didn't tell the wife.

I'm sorry. You not of appropriate drinking age, and should not be in possession of drinking paraphenalia. I'm afraid I am going to have to confiscate your new ventamatics. Send them over, and while you are at it, send those kegs over for disposal as well.

Ventmatics rock. I love mine. The only problem I have is my original kegerator broke that had the Ventmatics in it and my new one just has the picnic taps.

New kegerator is a 3.8 cubic foot chest freezer that just barely holds 4 kegs. If I put the shanks through the collar I won't get the front kegs in or out. I'll modify soon enough though.

I assume the higher quality of the ventamatics means (among other things) they have lower flow resistance. This would indeed lead to more foaming.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

I do find that I keep my kegs at 10 rather than 12 psi. Never really equated it to the taps... but you could be right.
