show us your dubs

i see that there seems to be a fair contingent of vw owners on here.
heres my pride and joy, its a 1972 1302S super bug with a modified 2L t4 motor. it will cruise all day at 110km/hr not worring about hills. ( the rest of the world went metric ages ago so just deal with it)

and its rebuild thread

i also own a mark 6 golf wagon which is the daily driver.

so how about some pics from the other owners out there

You should have cheated on the heater like I did. I had a gas fired heater that took it's fuel right from the gas tank. I could have the thing (1965 bug) toasty by the time I backed out of the driveway. 8) I did a few minor mods to it such as a quick shift conversion that reduced the throw from 2nd to 3rd down to about an inch and a half and an aftermarket anti-sway bar. One of the major mods was replacing the clutch pressure plate with one intended for a Porsche. With that the clutch you had to grab the steering wheel tightly with both hands so you could get enough push against the clutch pedal. It worked more like an on/off switch rather than a clutch. I could lay rubber in all four gears with that. The other big mod was to get rid of the head gaskets and hone the heads to the top of the cylinders. That raised the compression quite a bit. However, that created another problem. While driving in a gymkhana a few weeks later, I over revved and separated one of the heads from the cylinder. Went back to using the gaskets after that.

Not an aircooled but still a dub :) Style is definitely not for everyone but at the least I think you guys should appreciate the custom centercaps! (I talked to Justin before I had these made I got his blessing)

Anyway the car is a 2009 GTI on air ride (installed myself)
Stage 2 chiptuning (280 hp/300 ft/lbs)
3" downpipe
some bodywork and little nitpicky things done here and there...but anyway here she is!

First the Caps!!

Oh and the air tank is also something you guys may enjoy :)

yes the wheels are fitted and cambered so that when the car airs out it slides perfectly in between the lip of the wheel and the tire....It's insane and it's just for show there is no real rhyme or reason for it...Just to be different and stand out at the vw GTG's.

Got a feature here with lots of extra pictures of the car! http://www.juststance.com/exclusive-pho ... force-mkv/

160MPH on the Autobahn btw...that was a one time thing just to see where it could go...
