Sounds like the Bryte-San people told the homebrew shop this bit of misinformation and they had no reason to question it. Can't really blame the person working at the shop.
I hope my post helped in some way. If not, please feel free to contact me.

Well, considering it was $5.99 for an 8oz. bottle compared to $8.99 for StarSan I don't feel like so much of a sucker. Now what's the mark-up for StarSan shipped to the islands?

How is that any different from the way you normally cry?

5 Star makes over 60 products from this really dumpy part of town. The place is a chemists dream, so I bet they make whatever they can themselves.

I am glad that this was just a scare/sales ploy. I too would be crying like a little girl. StarSan and SaniClean are absolutely fantastic products which damn near get close to sterile results when used according to the label.

If these products were taken off the market, I just might give up on homebrewing altogether.

As a regular patron of Larry's Brewing Supply for over ten years, I can assure you that no "sales ploy" was being pulled on anybody. Larry's is the largest brewing supply store in the Pacific Northwest, supplying raw ingredients to many local microbreweries as well as homebrewers.

Any misinformation transmitted to their customers was likely misrepresented to Larry's in the first place. If Heidi or Betty informed you of this, I guarantee they thought they were telling you the truth.

They are honest, friendly, knowledgable folks who have no need to make false claims in order to boost sales!

Back to my home brewed IPA...

Cheers, guys!
