Mufasa and J did a great job of addressing the issue on the show Sunday. The discussion made for a great show.

Good job guys.

At least u guys have a GB or BJ's. I've got a couple of locals who brew really good beer. I'd love to see BJ's or GB or Rock Bottome move up here in Michigan. There's a Big Buck that closed 3 years ago still available, with a good location, near Palace of Auburn Hill. Just be thankful for the complaining and you have several choices where to go.

Cheers!

In fact the owner of Upright Brewing, who I am interning for now, used to brew there and he said they made some really good beer. I think that it's a shame that this beer is now being brewed in Reno Nevada at a centralized location. There is probably a nice brewing system up there, not even being used. Yo Mufassa, hire me and I'll get the system running again! I'll work for dirt!

I have only been to 2 Gordon Biersch brewpubs and both of them brewed on site. The beer is really fantastic. I think you can learn a lot about brewing great lagers by drinking their beers. They really have the freshness factor and they know how to get great melanoidin development.

interestingly enough, when they did have a brewhouse and brewmaster in town I found the one off brews they did for local events often times were way better quality wise, and usually pretty adventurous style wise when compared to what the sea of craft brewers in this area had to offer.

That's my understanding as well. I know that the one here in Dallas that's opening is not brewing on premise. I really wish they'd change it. I'd kill to have a real ale brewpub in my neighborhood.

It's such a web of stupid laws surrounding alcohol sales and consumption in this state. One of the few drawbacks.

As for BJ's, beer ain't bad but I can't keep them straight from Rock Bottom a lot of the time. "Uh, you know, the BJ's or Rock Bottom or whatever by that mall...beer's pretty good."

Nope, that's not true. Only twoof the four GB's in the Phoenix valley brew. It just doesn't make economic sense, as Mufassa pointed out, when one location with on-premise can support two others. I don't hold it against them. The beer rocks, and so does the food.
