Where to buy Kent hops?

Wed Sep 16, 2009 12:34 pm

There is a favorite beer of mine from a brewpub called 8th Street, brewed by Four peaks, here in Tempe AZ. On their website they state that they use Kent hops imported from England and they use it as an aroma hop. Well that happens to be my favorite thing about this beer. I enjoy the smell before it even touches my mouth. I did a quick search online, and was led to the Kent country of England. I found some pretty interesting things, but still no luck with where to buy some. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Matt

My guess is that is Kent Goldings which you should be able to find at most LHBS.

Try any of the online distributors such as Northern brewer, Midwest supplies, or Morebeer. They shouldn't be too hard to find, just make sure you compare prices and delivery charges.

Yea, I was thinking it was Kent Golding as well, but everything I read makes me believe that Kent hops is something different. We all know Kent Golding hops are very common. I could go to my local brew store and buy them, but as stated here on this link http://www.fourpeaks.com/Beers.asp for the description of 8th Street, I'm thinking it's not Kent Golding hops. Also check out this http://www.producedinkent.co.uk/media/f ... s_EBro.pdf. I would have to say though that East Kent Golding hops are grown in the same area, but still something different. I could be wrong though.

I would just email the brewery then and ask them.
