Wow,
I have nothing to contribute, bottled and aging, scotch ale, really nasty saison (chlorophenols, really medicinal),Old ale fermentor: munich helles. Secondary/need to repitch: Imperial Stout, Up next: Marzan on top of munich helles yeast cake, bock on top of marzan yeast cake all done with White labs bock yeast.

I have no use for fruit beers personally, something about if I want fruit I'll eat fruit. I also get tired of the taste of straight german pilsner malt and straight up marris otter called for in traditional german and english beers. It's nice to taste beers in which the ester profiles created predominately by the yeast rule (some belgians). And when I'm done with that and getting a little trashy, I want a huge IPA, cause I can taste the hops. Have respect for what the different styles showcase and try to appreciate the effort that went into all of them. If it sucks, dump it! God knows I do to the fruity beers, but you try them and occasionally you are pleasantly surprised. Down with beer bigotry!

Fruity beers are for fruity people.

This is the stupidest thing I've read today. Congratulations! :jnj

I'll take a nice kriek any day. I've had incredible fruit lambics and cherry stouts. New Glarus Belgian Red is one of the most amazing beers I have ever tasted. Believe it or not, there is more than just stouts and esbs and heineken out there.

I say next time let the comment ferment more than 15 days--maybe 6 months. Then we'll be truly amazed.

+1

oh and +1 Henway.

Where is all the hate coming from? I thought we were all beer drinkers here... no need to turn this into politics or religion. Chill out, drink what you like, brew what you like... and try something new if that's something you're into. I mean, look at how happy the Unicorn and the Rainbow are together. That was new for them at some point too  :unicornrainbow:

A well made fruit beer is as good as anything else to me.

My fav's:
Weyerbacher Raspberry Imperial Stout
Pyramid Apricot
Some of the blueberry ales I had in Maine (Bar Harbor, etc.)
Any Framboise or Kriek

My hate's:
Sam's Cherry Wheat (tastes like Fred Flintstone vitamins)

Wow, dude. Really?? No, I mean, really, with that attitude? WTF?

People brew what they like because they feel like brewing it and because they want to see how it will turn out. Would you tell a male pastry chef to make some sauerbraten instead of making puff pastries like a homo? That's the gist I get of what you're saying. The OP was posting a beer REVIEW. In a BEER REVIEW section. How it devolved into the relative ridiculousness of "only trannys brew fruit beers" is a little head-scratching at best.

I get it. You like German lagers and English ales. Maybe ZZ doesnt. Then again, maybe he does. You certainly didn't ask him. Maybe what he drinks and brews is his choice. I'm all for ripping on people in good-natured fun, but you seem to be a little on the pissy side.
