That's the Hawaiian way - stick it to the tourists, they are coming anyway.
It will make sense to rent in Oregon if we stay 2 weeks next summer and go to the NHC.
I was just in San Diego for the Sour Beer Fest and rented a car from Fox rent-a-car for $84 for 3 days.
Oh and Stone world bistro is a must.
