Review of Northern Brewer Bourbon Barrel Porter Extract

Thu Mar 18, 2010 1:38 pm

I brewed this bad boy up in Jan, and decided it was time to start drinking it. Its been in the bottle about 3 - 4 weeks is very enjoyable. I didn't think the kit was overly hard to accomplish. However, it is a little bit more expensive than an average beer. The addition of oak and bourbon had something to do with that. I didn't reach full attenuation nor did I hit the O.G. mark. It was my 3rd try and beer, so I've started to perfect a few processes.

I will be doing this one again at some point. I enjoy the style and think it turned out pretty good.

You can see the whole review, pictures and video on my site.
