better examples of the big IPA are Magnolia Promised Land, 21st Amendment Hop Crisis or Triplerock IIPAX. and if you really want a punch in the nuts find a way to have Denogonizer from Drakes. sorry kids, these are local beers for me.

and can we stop calling this style India Pale Ale whatever because NONE of them are going there. in fact if you served this style to anyone outside of HopLand they'd gag then same way "beer geeks" gag over Bud. West Coast Pale is a better name. but if you want to include the whole world over I propose 3PA as in 3X Pale Ale.

This was my experience from trying it for the first time last year. I remember it being in the same vein as 120 minute IPA, way too bitter and with an alcohol bite similar to whiskey. That said I definitely want to try it again this year to see if my palate has changed towards this sort of brew.

I preferred the Younger last year. Didn't find this years all that special. Vinnie said they changed the recipe a bit from last year.

This years Younger was my favorite of all batches. It was more balanced, not as bitter as previous batches and a little bit sweeter. But it's all about the hop aroma, it's just an incredible complex mix of layer after layer of hoppy goodness. I loved it! If you make one pilgrimage to taste a beer in your life, you have to taste The Younger! And look out, it is deceptively strong. You would never believe it's an 11%er by taste! After 3 Ten oz glasses of it, "I was walkiin' on the moon!"
Enjoy Great Beer!
