Frosty Knuckle

Tue Mar 09, 2010 5:03 pm

Had a Frosty Knuckle on draught today. Made by Ipswich Brewing in Massachusetts. Menu says its an alt bier which is a style I'm not terribly familiar with. Was VERY drinkable. Nicely balanced hop flavor but absolutely no aroma whatsoever. Typically consider myself a hophead but really did enjoy this beer. Anyone have any thoughts? Any recommendations for other tasty US concoctions in the alt style?

Long Trail Ale is an alt, but not that great in my opinion.

Long Trail Double Bag is a sticke alt (imperial alt) that I think is quite excellent.

8 mile alt is supposed to be good, but never had it.

Went to the Alaska Brewing website. IBU and ABV looks pretty similar to the Frosty Knuckle. Certainly one to put on the punch list. List is getting long so I gotta get drinking. Thanks for the suggestion.

Had a 6 pack of double bag in my hands today but decided the fridge was too full. Never realized that was an alt.
