Re: AleSmith?

I was just visiting my sister in San Diego over the holidays. There was a place right down the street from her house called 'The Taproom' (she actually lives in Ocean Beach, just north of SD). A fantastic spot if you're ever in the area, awesome happy hour prices. So to get to the point, I had only ever experienced Alesmith from the 750 which limited me to their strong ales, so I was really interested to try their more mild offerings, and I have to say that I was impressed, their XPA is especially noteworthy, a delicious pale ale with a strong malt backbone and layered with mild bitters and a tremendous floral citrus hop flavor and aroma. I tried all 3 of the Alesmith beers that were on tap there (and then some Port brews) and I was fucking obliterated when I left that place

alesmith is a fine brewery... their IPA is a perfect example of how an IPA should be...for their holiday ale, i prefer their summer IIPA over their winter red. But regardless, they are tasty :aaron
