Green Flash Le Freak

Fri Feb 15, 2013 1:14 am

Hi All, Im Chris from NZ and I am a n00b (on here anyway).

Was wondering if I could get a helping hand with some tips to get close to Le Freak. I stay away from most belgian type beers but this one is amazing.

I have seen in my travels that this is pretty much a beefed up GF IIPA and has a belgian yeast then the next day the US yeast.

That's about it.

Anyone able to share any more info?

Thanks in advance :jnj

I think Le Freak is their imperial ipa fermented with two yeasts, one belgian, and finished with an american yeast.

From the Green Flash Website:

Le Freakâ„¢
Ale
An ‘out of the box’ modern ale crafted by converging two beer styles, Belgian Trippel and American Imperial IPA. Dry-Hopped and Bottle-Conditioned – it’s a zesty brew with enticing American hop and fruity Belgian yeast aromatics.
ALC. BY VOL. 9.2% | IBUS: 101

When I tried it, i thought dry DIPA fermented with 3711. Amazing beer IMO.
