Flemish Sour

Thu May 19, 2011 5:11 am

Just had a Monk's Cafe Flemish Sour Ale last night. Wow. Super delicious. Really complex with a slight tang...mmmm.

I wanna start getting into sours, now. I don't necessarily need to clone this, as I know it's blended, but I'd like something kinda close. Something lightly tart and complex. Not afraid of a little funk, but I'd like to ease into this. Anybody have advice on recipes or beastie blends to use?

I dont have any real advice but I just started my first sour. Oud bruin de table from Northern Brewer. I have ben advised to not bottle for 1 year. Sours really are a long term commitment.

I cant wait :jnj
