Eis'ing an IPA

Mon Aug 23, 2010 10:03 pm

One of many random thoughts... Brew a DIPA, dry hop and condition, then freeze concentrate to remove around 30%, then dry hop it again following the "eis'ing".

Discuss.

What was the impact on the hop flavor? Did you change your recipe knowing that you were going to eis it?

Yep seen that. Not looking to go that extreme. I'm more curious as to what the impact of the eis process has on the hop flavor, and if the post freezing dry hop is needed to bring back the aroma?

It certainly sounds interesting. Will you have enough bottles to send to the BNArmy to evaluate?

How did you go ahead with the whole "eis" ing process? Just curious.
