Alt recipe

I'm looking for your best ALT reipes. I've got a vile of yeast screaming to eat.

Zum Uerige is my favorite altbier so I like my alts bitter rather than malty.

I don't have the exact recipe handy, but here's something you could use to generate the specifics for your brewery from.

85% pils
15% cara(munich)
slight amount of carafa (black) for color

ABV 4.7%

Mash rests at 99, 122, 145, 160 (Farenheit, of course)

Spalt is the hop of choice in the best Alts. Shoot for 50 IBUs with all as bittering hops.

Don't ferment too high (although in the ale range) and give it a good cold conditioning period.
