Yeah, if you were wanting to use the same recipe, I'd go with what quin said and make a version that is similar to a pale, lightly hopped, could tweak it to bring a bit more malt to it, but if you end up using something other than a 50/50 blend, you wouldn't want to end up with 3 gal of unhopped beer either...then you're in the same situation on the other side...

If you dont mind aging it another month and half and like bourbon I got a fix for you. get some medium roasted oak chips and soak them in a mason jar with bourbon outside in the sun for like a week or two. then strain the bourbon and add the soaked chips to the ipa and let that sit for 3-5 weeks. It's something quite tasty!

Try mixing it with SN's "Tumbler". That'll get you where you want to be. Nice and malty. It would probably be pretty damn good!
