I find that athanum has more orange notes than cascade. To me, they are very similar. Very floral hops with cascade having more of a grapefruit note and athanum having a touch of orange. I used to use them all of the time because Ive never been a big cascade fan, not to mention so many breweries have already done the cascade beers, so why do I need to.

Sam Adams just put out their Latitude 48 series "deconstructed" which includes single hop IPA's with the following hops:
Hallertau Mittelfrueh from Germany; East Kent Goldings from England; and Ahtanum, Simcoe, and Zeus from WA.

Good for tasting single hops

glad to hear good things from this hop. I just used it in an am. amber lager today and it seems it will go well with the cascades in it.
