Here is the email Steve sent back to me.
Hi Daniel.
Glad to be of some help, and I'm glad you like the beer. Here are some of the more pertinent beer specs:

Opening gravity 13.8 Plato Ending gravity 3.5 Plato Bitterness 33 IBU

Besides pale malt use 2.5% caramel 40, 3.5% chocolate malt and .5% smoked malt. If you can't find C-40, use C-60 but cut it back maybe 1/2 a percent.

Bittering hops are Challenger, aroma hops are Golding.

Pretty simple recipe, but makes one of my favorite seasonal. Let me know how it turns out. Good luck.

This is great...thanks for doin that legwork, snowcapt! What would one suggest as far as hop addition amounts & times for these 2 hops in a 5 Gal batch?

Thats just the thing. Play around with your brewing software. Id be willing to bet that the ibu's from the aroma are negligible. Look for 95% ibu from the bittering. Thatll be my first attempt. He also wants to try it. He will be my way soon.

This is one of my favorite fall beers. Its just loaded with flavor and balanced well for my tastes. Great work on getting the info! I will be brewing this up fo sho.
