Galena provides a fairly coarse citrusy bittering IMO. With its high cohumulone level - often indicative of coarse bitterness - I find it to be most similar to Chinook. We use Galena at the pub in one of our IPAs as a first-wort hop. The same beer sees some Galena for dry hopping along with Columbus - about 20% and 80%, respectively.
