Breakfast Stout additions at kegging

Thu Jul 28, 2011 4:48 am

Hello,

I am finishing up a breakfast stout this weekend and wanted to make some flavor additions.. for one, coffee (no problem with this as I have done it in the past).. but I would also like to add chocolate and something to sweeten it a bit.

My first idea was 1/2-1 cup of cocoa powder with a pound of lactose (making 2 total pounds of lactose) or just adding Hersey's syrup to get the sweet and chocolate.

I'm going to be adding potassium sorbate and force carbing so i'm not worried about the sugar addition.

Thanks in advance.

Update: I ended up adding 2 cups instant coffee, 1.75 cups cocoa powder, 2 tbsp vanilla extract and 1.5 cups dme... I was like adding 1/2 gal of liquid brownie to the stout, and it turned out great! Now I need to resist tapping it for 2-6 months
